Unit Converter Hub

Editorial & Corrections Policy

We prioritize correctness and clarity. Constants come from internationally agreed sources (e.g., NIST and BIPM). Calculators use exact anchors and round only at display.

Updates

Pages receive maintenance when standards change, readers report issues, or we expand examples. Each article shows a “Last updated” line.

Corrections

If you spot an error, contact us via the Contact page. We will verify and correct promptly, noting material changes.

Examples of Editorial Decisions We Make

Editorial choices are aimed at making the site dependable for practical, everyday use.

How We Verify Conversion Factors

The goal is to keep converters aligned with the best available references, not just tradition.

Balancing Simplicity and Detail

Every converter page represents a tradeoff between exhaustive coverage and ease of use.

Good editorial work is often invisible; you mostly notice it when it's missing.

Being Transparent About Limitations

No converter can promise perfection in every context, and it's important to be open about that.

Honest limits help people decide when this tool is enough and when they need something more specialized.

Your Role in Keeping the Site Accurate

While we do our best to maintain accurate conversions, there's always room for real-world users to help.

Accuracy is a shared effort between reference materials and people who use them every day.

How Editorial Choices Evolve Over Time

Good editorial work is iterative; each revision should make the site a little easier to trust.

How We Source Conversion Constants

Every conversion factor used in Unit Converter Hub derives from internationally ratified definitions. The primary sources are the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM), and ISO 80000. Where a conversion is exact by definition — such as 1 inch = 2.54 cm — it is labeled "exact." Where a value is a measured constant with known uncertainty, we use the NIST-recommended value.

Our Correction Process

If a reader identifies an error in any conversion factor, formula, or reference table, we commit to reviewing and correcting it within 48 hours of a verified report. Corrections are noted inline on the affected page with a revision date. We do not silently update pages — every factual change is acknowledged.
